Volunteer Opportunities with Duncanville

The success of many special events, whether sponsored by the city or a local organization, is largely dependent on the service of volunteers. Additionally, many residents and retirees within the community find rewarding volunteer opportunities through their involvement in city-sponsored programs such as Citizens on Patrol. As a volunteer, retirees develop valuable contacts, gain new skills, and meet a variety of people.

Local residents and retirees are also encouraged to be involved in the community through service on city boards and commissions. These include:

▪ Planning & Zoning Commission
▪ Board of Adjustment
▪ Sign Control Board
▪ Park & Recreation Advisory Board
▪ Library Advisory Board
▪ Keep Duncanville Beautiful Board
▪ Duncanville Community and Economic Development Corporation
▪ Regional Animal Shelter Board
▪ Civil Service Commission

The Duncanville branch of the Texas Department of Human Services also relies on volunteers from the community. Information on these opportunities is available through www.servenet.org.
